A CHARTER FOR CHILDREN
We pride ourselves on prioritising the happiness and wellbeing of the children in our care.  Our Charter for Children can be located using the link at the bottom of this page.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS
Children with additional needs, like all other children, may be admitted after full consultation between parents/carers, staff, referral scheme coordinators and other relevant agency workers who can share information to ensure we are able to meet your child's individual needs.  Our Additional Educational Needs and Disabilities Policy can be located on the right hand side of this page.

SAFEGUARDING
We aim to provide an environment in which children are safe from harm and abuse and in which all suspicions of abuse will be responded to in accordance with the All Wales Child Protection Procedures (2008) and the local procedures of the Vale of Glamorgan Local Safeguarding Children Board as mandated by Working Together to Safeguarding Children (2004).  Our Child Protection Policy and Procedure can be found on the right hand side of this page.

ACTIVE PLAY

Active play, especially outdoors, helps your child develop physically, mentally and emotionally. It helps them develop strong bones and muscles, improves their skills and coordination, and makes them feel better about themselves. It can even help them sleep better (Public Health Wales).  We promote active play daily using our outdoor area, bikes and trikes, balls and hoops and an obstacle course.

For more information about active play follow the link at the bottom of this page.

GOLD AWARD FOR HEALTHY EATING
We have been re-accredited with the Gold Plus by the Gold Standard Health Snack Award. Being part of the scheme shows a commitment to children’s health and encouraging good eating habits. It shows that a setting is putting recommendations from the Food and Nutrition for Childcare Settings  into practice.  Each day, children are provided with a range of healthy snacks which they are enjoying. The scheme encourages family participation so if you have any interesting varieties of fruit and veg, or home grown, please feel free to send in with your child.  If you have any ideas please use the suggestion box in the foyer.

We have a Healthy Eating policy which you can access using the link at the bottom of this page.

HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE PRE-SCHOOL SCHEME
We have now completed the scheme which actively promotes health and wellbeing within the whole pre-school setting community.  We have received good feedback from the assessors and our attention to the wellbeing of the child was particularly noted.  Our involvement in the scheme will be ongoing as we keep up to date with all areas.
